Course Objective

  • Develop consultation techniques, including understanding client needs, recognizing contra-indications, referral procedures, explaining potential contra-actions, and offering aftercare and homecare advice.
  • Master health, safety, and hygiene practices within the context of the TCM Tuina industry.
  • Acquire TCM Tuina techniques, such as selecting appropriate approaches for client illnesses, applying classical Tuina movements, and customizing treatments according to client needs.
  • Gain knowledge of current legislation, working practice requirements, client care, and effective communication crucial for success in the industry.
  • Obtain a comprehensive understanding of anatomy, physiology, common diseases, and disorders relevant to TCM Tuina practice.
  • Develop professional conduct, business awareness, and ethical practice in a complementary therapy context.
  • Enhance broader skills such as client communication, teamwork, and problem-solving within a TCM Tuina or massage setting.
  • Cultivate essential skills, techniques, personal qualities, and attitudes for successful employment as a TCM Tuina therapist.

 

Course Description

The Diploma in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Tuina (Mandarin) is designed to equip learners with practical and theoretical skills necessary for providing TCM Tuina treatments to the general public and entering the TCM Tuina industry professionally. The course focuses on occupational competence at the healthcare professional level, offering 480 hours of integrated learning encompassing TCM foundational theory and TCM Tuina principles. It is suitable for individuals aged 21 and above, providing a robust foundation for further training at higher levels and beyond.

    * There are no lessons on all public holidays scheduled by the government of Singapore and scheduled holidays by the school.

      Entry Requirements

      Age: 21

       

      Language:

      • Obtained at least a Grade 5 in GCE N(A) or N(T) Level Chinese or its equivalent.

       

      Academic:

      • Obtained at least a Grade 5 at GCE N(A) or N(T) Levels in any three subjects or equivalent.

      OR

      • Mature candidates aged 21 and above with at least 2 years of working experience in Healthcare Tuina will be considered on merit.
